Robert CoelhoPresident and Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Coelho brings more than two decades of senior business and corporate management experience in the energy sector to this role. He has procured, managed and financed several high profile energy projects in both British Columbia and internationally. From 2000 – 2010 Mr. Coelho led Mitsubishi Canada’s Machinery department in Vancouver where he participated in some the largest projects in Western Canada's power generation industry.  At Mitsubishi, he oversaw all commercial aspects of their role in power industry including: business development, Independent Power Producer investment and financing related efforts for Mitsubishi’s Western Canadian portfolio. In that role he worked closely with all levels of government and managed international teams to see projects from their inception to fruition.  

Mr. Coelho holds a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Simon Fraser University as well as a Communications Diploma of Technology in Communication Marketing Management from British Columbia Institute of Technology.

Casper Bych – Executive Chairman of the Board

Casper brings over two decades of experience in management, has practiced securities law at national law firm; and has been involved in the investment banking industry as the CEO of Mountainview Capital Corporation, a Vancouver based corporate finance boutique.

He obtained his law degrees from University of Copenhagen (Cand. Jur.) and McGill University (L.L.B. and B.C.L. - with Distinction)

David Kiess – Manager of Project Development

David Kiess brings over 35 years of hydroelectric development experience to the position with Eclipsol. His broad range of management skills and “outside the box” approach to problem solving, support his passion for renewable energy technology development and implementation. He is considered one of the pioneers of the private sector hydro industry in BC.

“Mr. Kiess inspired the corporate vision and direction for Run of River Power Inc., and Syntaris Power Corp. as they were developing to take a lead positions in the emerging “Green Era” opportunities in the BC renewable energy marketplace. His proven commitment to environmental stewardship and the consultative process, will ensure Eclipsol’s rapid expansion in the renewable energy industry.”

Mr. Kiess has participated on association boards (4 years as a Director of IPPBC) and energy industry panels that have been focused on the supply of renewable energy to the customers of BC Hydro, and global warming think tanks (Federal Roundtable on the Environment). He participated in consultations with the BC Liberal Provincial Caucus regarding formulation of the BC Energy Plan

Alexander Kiess - Technical Manager

For over 35 years Mr. Kiess was employed by B.C. Hydro and I.P.E.C.. (International Power and Engineering Consultants) performing design, construction and inspection of high voltage transmission lines, substations and thermal power plants in Canada and South America.  As both a construction and inspection supervisor he oversaw most of the high voltage transmission lines, substations and thermal power plants constructed in B.C.

As a founding member of I.P.P.B.C.. (Independent Power Producers of B.C, now Clean Energy BC).  He has conducted feasibility studies, sight investigations and design, project planning, and economic studies for over 200 small hydro projects.  These "run of river" plants range from 2 MW to 49 MW in output. Mr. Kiess then focused on pump storage hydro projects, that utilize natural reservoirs, and will provide capacity and ancillary benefits to the BC grid. These projects have ranged from 200 MW to 1,000 MW in capacity.
